Panel: Opportunities for Data Centres in Japan and Korea MTD TV APAC Data Centre Forum 2022

2022/08/21 by Danita Phaopat Leave a Comment

Japan’s data centre market, valued at $7 billion in 2021 is expected to reach $10 billion by 2026 given the world’s third largest economy’s urbanised society and burgeoning IT industry sector. Leading digital player and cultural superpower, South Korea, also continues to push for more robust infrastructure to support its growing public cloud ecosystem, which is set to double as it expands at a compound annual growth rate of 15 percent, according to Boston Consulting Group.

Despite the ever-rising demand for data centres, both North Asian markets remain in their nascent stages, and have only just begun to be tapped by global hyperscalers, which makes them poised for significant growth.
